Established in 2025, ESIC Model Hospital, Basaidarapur is the flagship hospital of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, commissioned on 1 December 1971 with a bed strength of 150 and spread over an area of 31 acres. Over the years the hospital has been upgraded in terms of bed strength, infrastructure, clinical and diagnostic facilities, and presently it has 600 commissioned beds and about 150 observation/ monitoring beds and provides tertiary level care along with many super specialties to more than five lakhs IPs and their families. It has now been sanctioned to be upgraded to 1000 Beds.

Since 2010, attached to the hospital is the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (PGIMSR) providing post graduate degree courses in nine specialties & in one super specialty. The hospital also serves as a center for diagnosis & treatment of occupational disease cases of North Zone States-Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, and Uttarakhand (IOHER).
