About BPS Government Medical College for Women, Sonepat:
Established in 2012, The foundation stone of the Institute was laid down by
Hon’ble Chairperson of UPA Smt. Sonia Gandhi on 1st March, 2009. The Institute
has been built up by NBCC in 88 Acres land with a cost of Rs. 374 crores in
the record time of two years. Almost Rs. 50 crores have been spent on the
state of art, machinery and equipment to provide the world class services in
the health centre. Another important thing is that the hospital is air
conditioned at many places but BPS Govt. Medical College is also air
conditioned which is rare in the private sector also.
The Institute was started on trial basis by Hon’ble Health Minister Rao
Narender Singh on 1st September 2011 with 100 beds, open for the public with a
team of 21 dedicated faculty members. The strength of the beds as well as
Doctors grew at a very fast rate and today we have 450 beds for admission,
state of art intensive areas with ventilators, Modular Operation Theaters and
world Class labor rooms. Today the total strength of Doctors has also
increased to 211.
