It further prohibits early disclosure of confidential information and unpermitted entry into exam centres.

Punishments & Penalties

To deter effectively, stringent penalties are provided in the anti-paper leak law:

For Individuals

• 3 to 5 years imprisonment
• Fine up to ?10 lakh

For Organized Crime

• 5 to 10 years imprisonment
• Minimum fine of ?1 crore

For Service Providers

• Fine up to ?1 crore
• More penalties if involved in misconduct

Other Key Provisions

• Offences are cognizable, non-bailable and non-compoundable
• Assets of participating organisations can be confiscated
• The inquiry is being conducted by higher-ranked police officers

The severity of these punishments indicates that the government intends to eradicate graft in any form related to exams.
